I ended my first blog with "Oh! in case you are wondering how to quickly access Contacts from New Gmail, use the 9-dot Google apps launcher that’s to the left of the Notifications icon top-right of the screen." As it turned out, not many were aware of this, and for those who were, many were unable to locate Contacts among the first set of icons visible upon clicking the 9-dot Google apps launcher. What to do then? The solution is fairly simple. For those unable to see Contacts among the first set of icons visible upon clicking the 9-dot Google apps launcher: Click on the More  link below. This will reveal an additional set of Google product icons and Contacts will be included in there. Click on the Contacts icon, and while pressing down the button, drag the Contact icon and move it upwards amid the first set of visible icons and drop it there. This was indeed the sweetest surprise included in New Gmail. For years, I have consistently sent feedback on how there should be an option to send discarded drafts in Gmail to Trash instead of them being permanently removed upon selecting that option. So, I was genuinely surprised to find out that in New Gmail: You can also delete drafts besides discarding them as you would in Classic Gmail. Deleted drafts end up in Trash and can be recovered from there much like a regular message or conversation. Clicking on the Discard drafts button permanently removes the selected draft as before. I guess the only thing left to do now for the team is to replace the Discard drafts button with the Delete button because with the Delete and Recovery options available for drafts, makes the Discard option seem inferior and redundant. 

I have been thoroughly exploring the New Gmail UI, and in the process, I developed an idea about how to create Reminders in here. The steps are as follows: Open a Compose window in New Gmail and type in the Reminder in the Subject field.  Save the Draft. Open Drafts from the left panel. Either hover over the specific draft or select the draft to view the Snooze option and click on it. Select the Date and Time you wish to be reminded of this task. Done! At the specified time, the Draft shall reappear at the top of your Inbox. I have created this short video to better explain this.
