Mail Delegation in Gmail

Many times we have to encounter a situation where we discuss the best way to allow someone access to our accounts or on ways to best share an email inbox across multiple users.  In most cases, the solution to the above-mentioned problems is to leave the password with the users; even though we are worried about a couple of important things - (a) it is not a secure way of doing things and (b) there is always the threat of the system finding those access suspicious and blocking them. One way to resolve these types of issues is through Email delegation - a process through which you can grant access to a Gmail account by adding a delegate who can read, send, and delete messages from that account. Revisiting Canned Responses (Templates) in Gmail

I wrote my first blog on Canned Responses here - Exploring the Advanced Tab in Gmail Settings: About Canned Responses , noting "Believe it or not, there is no article on Canned Responses in the Gmail Help Centre. Probably because it has always been a lab feature in the past and now included under the Advanced tab under Gmail settings in the new Gmail. So, today we take a look at this very popular feature in Gmail and the different ways we can use it.". That has remained the case, so with a change of UI, there is a need to rewrite the tutorial on how we can perform the following functions for a Canned Response or as they are now known, Templates . Create a Template Insert a Template Edit or Overwrite a Template Delete a Template Thankfully, the prerequisites haven't changed. To start using Templates in Gmail, it needs to be enabled from the Advanced tab under Gmail settings. As always, be sure to click on the Save Changes button on the bottom of the page.

Schedule Send in Gmail

On April 1, 2019, Google announced the Schedule send feature for Gmail which would allow the user to send out a composed email at a later date and time. This feature is available on Gmail web UI as well as the Gmail iOS and Android mobile apps. The scheduling process begins once you have completed composing the email. In Gmail web UI, you click on the down-arrow next to the blue Send button and then, click on the Schedule send option that appears above. In the Gmail Android app, you would need to click on the 3-dot (more) menu in the top right and from the options, select Schedule send. In the Gmail iOS app, you'd need to click on the 3-dot (more) menu in the top right and from the options which appear in the bottom of the screen, select Schedule send.
